An Open Letter To Peaceful Muslims

I received this piece via e-mail the other day. Like many things circulating throughout the web, it is difficult to tell whether this was really written by an American Airlines pilot named Capt John Maniscalco. However, it is wonderfully written and does an outstanding job of addressing what has been in the back of many Americans minds since 9/11.

While I don't believe you have to wave the flag to be patriotic, and it can be difficult to judge someone on their outward actions alone, still, it make me wonder. It's been a little over 5 years since 9/11, and the author does make a good point regarding the lack of demonstrable concern on the part of Arab-Americans, and others throughout the world for that matter.

Whether or not you agree with everything this author states or not, he does make some good points.

YOU WORRY ME!

By American Airlines Pilot - Captain John Maniscalco

"I've been trying to say this since 9-11 but you worry me. I wish you did not. I wish when I walked down the streets of this country that I love, that your color and culture still blended with the beautiful human landscape we enjoy in this country. Nevertheless, you do not blend in anymore. I notice you, and it worries me. I notice you because I cannot help it anymore. People from your homelands, professing to be Muslims, have been attacking and killing my fellow citizens and our friends for more than 20 years now. I do not fully understand their grievances and hate but I know that nothing can justify the inhumanity of their attacks.

On September 11, nineteen ARAB-MUSLIMS hijacked four jetliners in my country. They cut the throats of women in front of children and brutally stabbed to death others. They took control of those planes and crashed them into buildings killing thousands of proud fathers, loving sons, wise grandparents, elegant daughters, best friends, favorite coaches, fearless public servants, and children's mothers.

The Palestinians Celebrated, the Iraqis were overjoyed as was most of the Arab world. So, I notice you now. I do not want to be worried. I do not want to be consumed by the same rage and hate and prejudice that has destroyed the soul of these terrorists. But I need your help. As a rational American, trying to protect my country and family in an irrational and unsafe world, I must know how to tell the difference between you, and the Arab/Muslim terrorist.

How do I differentiate between the true Arab/Muslim-Americans and the Arab/Muslims in our communities who are attending our schools, enjoying our parks, and living in OUR communities under the protection of OUR constitution, while they plot the next attack that will slaughter these same good neighbors and children? The events of September 11 changed the answer. It is not my responsibility to determine which of you embraces our great country, with ALL of its religions, with ALL of its different citizens, with all of its faults. It is time for every Arab/Muslim in this country to determine it for me.

I want to know, I demand to know, and I have a right to know whether or not you love America. Do you pledge allegiance to its flag? Do you proudly display it in front of your house, or on your car?

Do you pray in your many daily prayers that Allah will bless this nation, that He will protect and prosper it? Or do you pray that Allah with destroy it in one of your "Jihads"? Are you thankful for the freedom that only this nation affords? A freedom that was paid for by the blood of hundreds of thousands of patriots who gave their lives for this country? Are you willing to preserve this freedom by paying the ultimate sacrifice? Do you love America? If this is your commitment, then I need YOU to start letting ME know about it.

Your Muslim leaders in this nation should be flooding the media at this time with hard facts on your faith, and what hard actions you are taking as a community and as a religion to protect the United States of America Please, no more benign overtures of regret for the death of the innocent because I worry about who you regard as innocent. No more benign overtures of condemnation for the unprovoked attacks because I worry about what is unprovoked to you. I am not interested in any more sympathy...I am only interested in action.

What will you do for America - our great country -- at this time of crisis, at this time of war?

I want to see Arab-Muslims waving the AMERICAN flag in the streets. I want to hear you chanting "Allah Bless America ." I want to see young Arab/Muslim men enlisting in the military. I want to see a commitment of money, time, and emotion to the victims of this butchering and to this nation as a whole The FBI has a list of over 400 people they want to talk to regarding the WTC attack. Many of these people live and socialize in Muslim communities. You know them. You know where they are

Hand them over to us, now! But I have seen little even approaching this sort of action. Instead I have seen an already closed and secretive community close even tighter. You have disappeared from the streets. You have posted armed security guards at your facilities.

You have threatened lawsuits. You have screamed for protection from reprisals.

The very few Arab/Muslim representatives that HAVE appeared in the media were defensive and equivocating. They seemed more concerned with making sure that the United States proves who was responsible before taking action. They seemed more concerned with protecting their fellow Muslims from violence directed towards them in the United States and abroad than they did with supporting our country and denouncing "leaders" like Khadafi, Hussein, Farrakhan, and Arafat. If the true teachings of Islam proclaim tolerance and peace and love for all people then I want chapter and verse from the Koran and statements from popular Muslim leaders to back it up. What good is it if the teachings in the Koran are good and pure and true when your "leaders" are teaching fanatical interpretations, terrorism, and intolerance?

It matters little how good Islam SHOULD BE if large numbers of the world's Muslims interpret the teachings of Mohammed incorrectly and adhere to a degenerative form of the religion. A form that has been demonstrated to us over and over again. A form whose structure is built upon a foundation of violence, death, and suicide. A form whose members are recruited from the prisons around the world. A form whose members (some as young as five years old) are seen day after day, week in and week out, year after year, marching in the streets around the world, burning effigies of our presidents, burning the American flag, shooting weapons into the air. A form whose members convert from a peaceful religion, only to take up arms against the great United States of America, the country of their birth A form whose rules are so twisted, that their traveling members refuse to show their faces at airport security checkpoints, in the name of Islam.

Do you and your fellow Muslims hate us because our women proudly show their faces in public rather than cover up like a shameful whore? Do you and your fellow Muslims hate us because we drink wine with dinner, or celebrate Christmas? Do you and you fellow Muslims hate us because we have befriended Israel?

We will NEVER allow the attacks of September 11, or any others for that matter, to take away that which is so precious to us: Our rights under the greatest constitution in the world. I want to know where every Arab/ Muslim in this country stands and I think it is my right and the right of every true citizen of this country to demand it. A right paid for by the blood of thousands of my brothers and sisters who died protecting the very constitution that is protecting you and your family. I am pleading with you to let me know. I want you here as my brother, my neighbor, my friend, as a fellow American. But there can be no gray areas or ambivalence regarding your allegiance and it is up to YOU, to show ME, where YOU stand."

"Until then .. you worry me"

Once Again, Damage Control Brought To You By Hillary

After Bill Clinton had his embarrassing hissy fit during an interview with Chris Wallace on Fox News, his wife has now stepped up to further try and fool the American public into believing that her pathetic husband did every thing he could to take out Osama Bin Ladin and the al Qaeda threat to our country.

Here are some of her quotes found in a story here:

"I think my husband did a great job in demonstrating that Democrats are not going to take these attacks," Hillary Clinton said. "I'm certain that if my husband and his national security team had been shown a classified report entitled 'Bin Laden Determined To Attack Inside the United States' he would have taken it more seriously than history suggests it was taken by our current president and his national security team."

Slick Willy would have taken the threat more seriously? Where was his serious response to the 1993 World Trade Center bombing? He never even visited the site after the bombing to show his concern. Also that blow delivered by al Qaeda was at least a good seven years prior to Bush’s eight months into his presidency! Clinton has considerably more than 8 months. He had seven years, and yet did nothing about Osama bin Laden nor al Qaeda! Who does Hillary and the rest of the democrats who tout this charge think they are kidding?!

I heard some further sound bytes on the radio where Hillary accuses Bush, Cheney and Rumsfield of forcing their ideology on the public by pursuing the war in Iraq, a war we are losing and that is “breaking” our military. Breaking our military? Since when are the democrats concerned about the military? She and her husband both never showed any respect, much less concern for the military when Bill was in office.

Hillary’s defense of Bill comes one day after Condeleeza Rice swatted down some of the lies Clinton told Chris Wallace and the American public during his “tough guy, empassioned self defense” schtict.

Here is some of what Rice said in a story found here:

"The notion somehow for eight months the Bush administration sat there and didn't do that is just flatly false - and I think the 9/11 commission understood that."

"What we did in the eight months was at least as aggressive as what the Clinton administration did in the preceding years."

As for Bill Clinton’s claim that he left a “comprehensive anti-terror strategy” for Bush to consult when he came into office, Rice says this:

"We were not left a comprehensive strategy to fight al Qaeda."

Rice responded to Clinton’s pathetic attempt to shift the blame in Bush’s direction thusly:

"I would just suggest that you go back and read the 9/11 commission report on the efforts of the Bush administration in the eight months - things like working to get an armed Predator [drone] that actually turned out to be extraordinarily important."

Whoops! So Bush did do something, beyond lobbing a few missiles at a powdered milk plant.

You know, the last time Bill Clinton wagged his crooked finger at the American public on TV trying to convince us of his innoence, he tried the impassioned role to fool us into believing that he was seriously wronged, and yet in the end reverted to his pathetic: "It depends upon what the definition of is is" to try and weasle out of finally being caught in his lies. I would look for Bill to respond likewise, as more and more of the lies he told during his Fox News interview are revealed. Of course Hillary will soon begin repeating her "Vast Right Wing Conspiracy" paranoia as being what is wrong here.

Why Hillary is still willing to clean up her husband's messes is beyond me. Unless, of course, they are just two peas from the same pod of political deceptiveness and self importance over the security of the nation.

Yeah. That must be it.

Nothing else makes sense.

Hillary for '08? Please one Clinton has done more than enough damage to this nation. We don't need a second one!

What If We Lose In Iraq, And The War On Terror?

I received an e-mail from my father today that contained an essay from a retired Major General, Vernon Chong, who was, among other things, the Command Surgeon for
Headquarters U.S. European Command, Stuttgart, Germany.

Dr. Chong does a fantastic job in his essay outlining why we all must ignore the anti-war, appeasment leftists and stay united behind our troops and the War On Terror.

This essay is a bit long but well worth the read. I don't think you can argue the case for staying the course in Iraq as well as the whole War on Terror better than Dr. Chong does.

And now without further adieu:

Subject: Muslims, terrorist and the USA. A different spin on Iraq
war.

This WAR is for REAL! Dr. Vernon Chong, Major General, USAF,
Retired

Tuesday, July 12, 2005
To get out of a difficulty, one usually must go through it. Our
country is now facing the most serious threat to its existence, as
we know it, that we have faced in your lifetime and mine (which
includes WWII).

The deadly seriousness is greatly compounded by the fact that there
are very few of us who think we can possibly lose this war and even
fewer who realize what losing really means.

First, let's examine a few basics:

1. When did the threat to us start?
Many will say September 11, 2001. The answer as far as the United
State is concerned is 1979, 22 years prior to September 2001, with
the following attacks on us:

* Iran Embassy Hostages, 1979;
* Beirut, Lebanon Embassy 1983;
* Beirut, Lebanon Marine Barracks 1983;
* Lockerbie, Scotland Pan-Am flight to New York 1988;
* First New York World Trade Center attack 1993;
* Dhahran, Saudi Arabia Khobar Towers Military complex 1996;
* Nairobi, Kenya US Embassy 1998;
* Dares Salaam, Tanzania US Embassy 1998;
* Aden, Yemen USS Cole 2000;
* New York World Trade Center 2001;
* Pentagon 2001.

(Note that during the period from 1981 to 2001 there were 7,581
terrorist attacks worldwide).

2. Why were we attacked?

Envy of our position, our success, and our freedoms. The attacks
happened during the administrations of Presidents Carter, Reagan,
Bush 1, Clinton and Bush 2. We cannot fault either the Republicans
or Democrats as there were no provocations by any of the presidents
or their immediate predecessors, Presidents Ford or Carter.

3. Who were the attackers?
In each case, the attacks on the US were carried out by Muslims.

4. What is the Muslim population of the World? 25%.

5. Isn't the Muslim Religion peaceful?
Hopefully, but that is really not material. There is no doubt that
the predominately Christian population of Germany was peaceful, but
under the dictatorial leadership of Hitler (who was also
Christian), that made no difference. You either went along with the
administration or you were eliminated. There were 5 to 6 million
Christians killed by the Nazis for political reasons (including
7,000 Polish priests). (see
http://www.nazis.testimony.co.uk/7-a.htm )

Thus, almost the same number of Christians were killed by the
Nazis, as the six million holocaust Jews who were killed by them,
and we seldom heard of anything other than the Jewish atrocities.
Although Hitler kept the world focused on the Jews, he had no
hesitancy about killing anyone who got in his way of exterminating
the Jews or of taking over the world
- German, Christian or any others.

Same with the Muslim terrorists. They focus the world on the US,
but kill all in the way -- their own people or the Spanish, French
or anyone else.
The point here is that just like the peaceful Germans were of no
protection to anyone from the Nazis, no matter how many peaceful
Muslims there may be, they are no protection for us from the
terrorist Muslim leaders and what they are fanatically bent on
doing -- by their own pronouncements -- killing all of us
"infidels." I don't blame the peaceful Muslims. What would you do
if the choice was shut up or die?

6. So who are we at war with?

There is no way we can honestly respond that it is anyone other
than the Muslim terrorists. Trying to be politically correct and
avoid verbalizing this conclusion can well be fatal. There is no
way to win if you don't clearly recognize and articulate who you
are fighting.

So with that background, now to the two major questions:

1. Can we lose this war?

2. What does losing really mean?

If we are to win, we must clearly answer these two pivotal
questions

We can definitely lose this war, and as anomalous as it may sound,
the major reason we can lose is that so many of us simply do not
fathom the answer to the second question - What does losing mean?

It would appear that a great many of us think that losing the war
means hanging our heads, bringing the troops home and going on
about our business, like post Vietnam. This is as far from the
truth as one can get.

What losing really means is:

We would no longer be the premier country in the world. The attacks
will not subside, but rather will steadily increase. Remember, they
want us dead, not just quiet. If they had just wanted us quiet,
they would not have produced an increasing series of attacks
against us, over the past
18 years. The plan was clearly, for terrorist to attack us, until
we were neutered and submissive to them.

We would of course have no future support from other nations, for
fear of reprisals and for the reason that they would see, we are
impotent and cannot help them.

They will pick off the other non-Muslim nations, one at a time. It
will be increasingly easier for them. They already hold Spain
hostage. It doesn't matter whether it was right or wrong for Spain
to withdraw its troops from Iraq. Spain did it because the Muslim
terrorists bombed their train and told them to withdraw the troops.
Anything else they want Spain to do will be done. Spain is
finished.

The next will probably be France. Our one hope on France is that
they might see the light and realize that if we don't win, they are
finished too, in that they can't resist the Muslim terrorists without
us.
However,
it may already be too late for France. France is already 20% Muslim
and fading fast!

If we lose the war, our production, income, exports and way of life
will all vanish as we know it. After losing, who would trade or
deal with us, if they were threatened by the Muslims. If we can't
stop the Muslims, how could anyone else?

The Muslims fully know what is riding on this war, and therefore
are completely committed to winning, at any cost. We better know it
too and be likewise committed to winning at any cost.

Why do I go on at such lengths about the results of losing? Simple.
Until
we recognize the costs of losing, we cannot unite and really put
100% of our thoughts and efforts into winning. And it is going to
take that 100% effort to win.

So, how can we lose the war?

Again, the answer is simple. We can lose the war by "imploding."
That is, defeating ourselves by refusing to recognize the enemy and
their purpose, and really digging in and lending full support to
the war effort If we are united, there is no way that we can lose.
If we continue to be divided, there is no way that we can win!

Let me give you a few examples of how we simply don't comprehend
the life and death seriousness of this situation.

President Bush selects Norman Mineta as Secretary of Transportation.
Although all of the terrorist attacks were committed by Muslim men
between 17 and 40 years of age, Secretary Mineta refuses to allow
profiling. Does that sound like we are taking this thing seriously?
This
is war! For the duration, we are going to have to give up some of
the civil rights we have become accustomed to. We had better be
prepared to lose some of our civil rights temporarily or we will
most certainly lose all of them permanently.

And don't worry that it is a slippery slope. We gave up plenty of
civil rights during WWII, and immediately restored them after the
victory and in fact added many more since then.

Do I blame President Bush or President Clinton before him?

No, I blame us for blithely assuming we can maintain all of our
Political Correctness, and all of our civil rights during this
conflict and have a clean, lawful, honorable war. None of those
words apply to war. Get them out of your head.

Some have gone so far in their criticism of the war and/or the
Administration that it almost seems they would literally like to
see us lose. I hasten to add that this isn't because they are
disloyal. It is because they just don't recognize what losing
means. Nevertheless, that conduct gives the impression to the enemy
that we are divided and weakening. It concerns our friends, and it
does great damage to our cause.

Of more recent vintage, the uproar fueled by the politicians and
media regarding the treatment of some prisoners of war, perhaps
exemplifies best what I am saying. We have recently had an issue,
involving the treatment of a few Muslim prisoners of war, by a
small group of our military police. These are the type prisoners
who just a few months ago were throwing their own people off
buildings, cutting off their hands, cutting out their tongues and
otherwise murdering their own people just for disagreeing with Saddam
Hussein.

And just a few years ago these same type prisoners chemically
killed 400,000 of their own people for the same reason. They are
also the same type of enemy fighters, who recently were burning
Americans, and dragging their charred corpses through the streets
of Iraq.

And still more recently, the same type of enemy that was and is
providing videos to all news sources internationally, of the
beheading of American prisoners they held.

Compare this with some of our press and politicians, who for
several days have thought and talked about nothing else but the
"humiliating" of some Muslim prisoners -- not burning them, not
dragging their charred corpses through the streets, not beheading
them, but "humiliating" them.

Can this be for real?

The politicians and pundits have even talked of impeachment of the
Secretary of Defense. If this doesn't show the complete lack of
comprehension and understanding of the seriousness of the enemy we
are fighting, the life and death struggle we are in and the
disastrous results of losing this war, nothing can.

To bring our country to a virtual political standstill over this
prisoner issue makes us look like Nero playing his fiddle as Rome
burned -- totally oblivious to what is going on in the real world.
Neither we, nor any other country, can survive this internal
strife. Again I say, this does not mean that some of our
politicians or media people are disloyal.
It simply means that they are absolutely oblivious to the
magnitude, of the situation we are in and into which the Muslim
terrorists have been pushing us, for many years.

Remember, the Muslim terrorists stated goal is to kill all infidels!
That
translates into ALL non-Muslims -- not just in the United State,
but throughout the world.

We are the last bastion of defense.

We have been criticized for many years as being 'arrogant.' That
charge is valid in at least one respect. We are arrogant in that we
believe that we are so good, powerful and smart, that we can win
the hearts and minds of all those who attack us, and that with both
hands tied behind our back, we can defeat anything bad in the
world!

We can't!

If we don't recognize this, our nation as we know it will not
survive, and no other free country in the world will survive if we
are
defeated.

And finally, name any Muslim countries throughout the world that
allow freedom of speech, freedom of thought, freedom of religion,
freedom of the press, equal rights for anyone -- let alone
everyone, equal status or any status for women, or that have been
productive in one single way that contributes to the good of the
world.

This has been a long way of saying that we must be united on this
war or we will be equated in the history books to the
self-inflicted fall of the Roman Empire . If, that is, the Muslim
leaders will allow history books to be written or read.

If we don't win this war right now, keep a close eye on how the
Muslims take over France in the next 5 years or less. They will
continue to increase the Muslim population of France and continue
to encroach little by little, on the established French traditions.
The French will be fighting among themselves, over what should or
should not be done, which will continue to weaken them and keep
them from any united resolve.
Doesn't that sound eerily familiar?

Democracies don't have their freedoms taken away from them by some
external military force. Instead, they give their freedoms away,
politically correct piece by politically correct piece.

And they are giving those freedoms away to those who have shown,
worldwide that they abhor freedom and will not apply it to you or
even to themselves, once they are in power.

They have universally shown that when they have taken over, they
then start brutally killing each other over who will be the few who
control the masses. Will we ever stop hearing from the politically
correct, about the "peaceful Muslims"?

I close on a hopeful note, by repeating what I said above. If we
are united, there is no way that we can lose. I hope now after the
election, the factions in our country will begin to focus on the
critical situation we are in, and will unite to save our country.
It is your future we are talking about! Do whatever you can to
preserve it.

If you would like to see who this fellow is go to this Air Force
web sight and look him up.

I don't fully agree with Dr. Chong's notion that it's not disloyalty on the part of the anti-war leftists, but rather lack of understanding what losing will mean. That may be true of some of them. But there are also those from the left who hate the U.S. so much that they want us to lose. You know the kind. The ones who wish for our troops "a million Mogaishus". Those that think we deserved 9/11.

What these fools don't understand is that if they get their way, they aren't going to be spared the tyranny and violence, in fact, they will more than likely be the first executed, since their propensity toward dishonor and disloyalty will rule out their useful existence.

I'm with Dr. Chong. I hope the majority of Americans will begin to ignore the left, pull ourselves up by our bootstraps, roll up our sleeves and commit ourselves to supporting the war effort, even stronger than we did for WWII.

I hope that in November we will remember which party is committed to eliminating the Islamo-Fascist threat, and which one wants to placate it.

Air America & Main-Stream America

The death of the great liberal hope of talk radio: Air America, by bankruptcy is just around the corner, that is, according to Think Progress in an article you can find here.

The article then goes on to point out that even if Air America folds, progressive radio (aka liberal/leftist radio) will be just fine and cites two liberal radio talk hosts: Ed Schultz and Stephanie Miller who operate independent of Air America. The article also points to Clear Channel’s partnership with the Center For American Progress and MSS Inc. in a nation-wide search for the next Progressive Talk Radio Star.

Good luck.

Are there liberal talk radio hosts out there besides what Air America had to offer? I’m sure there are. Are they really coming anywhere near their conservative talk radio host counterparts, such as: Rush Limbaugh, Sean Hannity, Bill O’Reilly, Mark Levin, Michael Savage, Glen Beck etc. in ratings and popularity? No. Not even close.

The impending demise of Air America and the lack of theirs, as well as other liberal talk radio hosts’ ability to compete ratings-wise with the overwhelming number of listeners that conservative talk radio hosts enjoy, illustrates the point that the liberal viewpoint doesn’t reflect main-stream America at all. In fact it ain’t even close.

Whose the big fat idiot now Al Franken?

The liberal message is simply unable to compete in the market place of ideas. It only thrives in situations where it is the only viewpoint in town. This explains the whining from the left about the success of Fox News and conservative talk radio hosts like Rush Limbaugh.

The left had a sweet deal going on until people like Rush Limbaugh and Rupert Murdock came along. The liberals pine for the days when the only media was ABC, CBS, NBC, PBN & NPR. Back then it was the liberal viewpoint and pretty much only the liberal slant 24/7, around the clock. Oh sure, every once in a while they might display some conservative on the show, but he was never allowed to be effective in any real way. The pseudo-conservative was there to be the example of the misguided that the liberal viewpoint was there to trump.

The Think Progressive article tries to downplay Air America’s demise thusly:

“The right wing is sure to seize on Air America’s financial woes as a sign that progressive talk radio is unpopular. In fact, Air America succeeded at creating something that didn’t exist: the progressive talk radio format. That format is now established and strong and will continue with or without Air America.”

But, this is just a weak attempt to continue with the false belief that, eventually main-stream America will catch on.

Yes. Air America did succeed in creating the progressive radio format, which never existed before, (I beg to differ, have they forgotten NPR?). But that liberal radio format, after having been pioneered, was stood up only to fail.

The liberals just don’t get it. They live in their elitist’ cocktail parties where they arrogantly believe that they are the intellectuals. They represent the views and goals of main-stream America. They lampoon the conservatives and the Religious Right as ignorant, bigots who are only a small misguided minority who don’t represent the rest of America.

And yet, the ratings prove them dead wrong.

To the contrary, main-stream America isn’t interested in their arrogant, anti-American, pro-UN, appeasement messages.

The amusing thing is that the left just doesn’t get it. They probably just think that main-stream America isn’t as enlightened as they are and if they will just keep trying, someday they will win the rest of America over to their “intellectual” viewpoints.

The day that they succeed, America will be in big trouble.

You know, I think it would be really cool though, if we could see a televised, or hear on the radio, a debate between Air America’s Randi Rhodes and conservative author and columnist, Ann Coulter. I bet Ann would mop the debate floor with Randi.

I would pay to see that.

"W"'s 9/11 Speech

President Bush delivered an excellent speech to the nation at the five year anniversary of the 9/11 tragedy. I thought he did an excellent job of reminding the nation as to who are enemy really is and what their mission is. He also made a powerful case for continuing to fight back in this war against the radical Islamo Fascist terrorists. He also re-enforced the necessity we had to invade Iraq and topple Saddam Hussein who was definatly a threat to us, as our Congress, the UN and our allies also recognized. And our need to stay the course there

You can find the transcript to the speech here. Here are some of the highlights:

"Since the horror of 9/11, we have learned a great deal about the enemy. We have learned that they are evil and kill without mercy - but not without purpose. We have learned that they form a global network of extremists who are driven by a perverted vision of Islam - a totalitarian ideology that hates freedom, rejects tolerance and despises all dissent. And we have learned that their goal is to build a radical Islamic empire where women are prisoners in their homes, men are beaten for missing prayer meetings, and terrorists have a safe haven to plan and launch attacks on America and other civilized nations. The war against this enemy is more than a military conflict. It is the decisive ideological struggle of the 21st century, and the calling of our generation."

"We face an enemy determined to bring death and suffering into our homes. America did not ask for this war, and every American wishes it were over. So do I. But the war is not over - and it will not be over until either we or the extremists emerge victorious. If we do not defeat these enemies now, we will leave our children to face a Middle East overrun by terrorist states and radical dictators armed with nuclear weapons. We are in a war that will set the course for this new century - and determine the destiny of millions across the world."

"For America, 9/11 was more than a tragedy - it changed the way we look at the world. On September the 11th, we resolved that we would go on the offense against our enemies - and we would not distinguish between the terrorists and those who harbor or support them. So we helped drive the Taliban from power in Afghanistan. We put al-Qaida on the run, and killed or captured most of those who planned the 9/11 attacks - including the man believed to be the mastermind, Khalid Sheikh Mohammed. He and other suspected terrorists have been questioned by the Central Intelligence Agency - and they have provided valuable information that has helped stop attacks in America and across the world. Now these men have been transferred to Guantanamo Bay, so they can be held to account for their actions. Osama bin Laden and other terrorists are still in hiding. Our message to them is clear: No matter how long it takes, America will find you, and we will bring you to justice."

"On September the 11th, we learned that America must confront threats before they reach our shores - whether those threats come from terrorist networks or terrorist states. I am often asked why we are in Iraq when Saddam Hussein was not responsible for the 9/11 attacks. The answer is that the regime of Saddam Hussein was a clear threat. My administration, the Congress and the United Nations saw the threat - and after 9/11, Saddam's regime posed a risk that the world could not afford to take. The world is safer because Saddam Hussein is no longer in power. And now the challenge is to help the Iraqi people build a democracy that fulfills the dreams of the nearly 12 million Iraqis who came out to vote in free elections last December."

"We are training Iraqi troops so they can defend their nation. We are helping Iraq's unity government grow in strength and serve its people. We will not leave until this work is done. Whatever mistakes have been made in Iraq, the worst mistake would be to think that if we pulled out, the terrorists would leave us alone. They will not leave us alone. They will follow us. The safety of America depends on the outcome of the battle in the streets of Baghdad. Osama bin Laden calls this fight "the third world war" - and he says that victory for the terrorists in Iraq will mean America's "defeat and disgrace forever."

"If we yield Iraq to men like Bin Laden, our enemies will be emboldened ... they will gain a new safe haven ... and they will use Iraq's resources to fuel their extremist movement. We will not allow this to happen. America will stay in the fight. Iraq will be a free nation, and a strong ally in the war on terror."

"Five years after 9/11, our enemies have not succeeded in launching another attack on our soil - but they have not been idle. Al-Qaida and those inspired by its hateful ideology have carried out terrorist attacks in more than two dozen nations. And just last month, they were foiled in a plot to blow up passenger planes headed for the United States. They remain determined to attack America and kill our citizens - and we are determined to stop them."

"In the first days after the 9/11 attacks, I promised to use every element of national power to fight the terrorists wherever we find them. One of the strongest weapons in our arsenal is the power of freedom. The terrorists fear freedom as much as they do our firepower. They are thrown into panic at the sight of an old man pulling the election lever, of girls enrolling in school or families worshipping God in their own traditions. They know that given a choice, people will choose freedom over their extremist ideology. So their answer is to deny people this choice by raging against the forces of freedom and moderation. This struggle has been called a clash of civilizations. In truth, it is a struggle for civilization."

"At the start of this young century, America looks to the day when the people of the Middle East leave the desert of despotism for the fertile gardens of liberty - and resume their rightful place in a world of peace and prosperity. We look to the day when the nations of that region recognize that their greatest resource is not the oil in the ground - but the talent and creativity of their people. We look to the day when moms and dads throughout the Middle East see a future of hope and opportunity for their children. And when that good day comes, the clouds of war will part the appeal of radicalism will decline ... and we will leave our children with a better and safer world. On this solemn anniversary, we rededicate ourselves to this cause. Our nation has endured trials - and we face a difficult road ahead. Winning this war will require the determined efforts of a unified country. And we must put aside our differences, and work together to meet the test that history has given us. We will defeat our enemies we will protect our people ... and we will lead the 21st century into a shining age of human liberty."

"Dangerous enemies have declared their intention to destroy our way of life. They are not the first to try - and their fate will be the same as those who tried before - 9/11 showed us why. The attacks were meant to bring us to our knees, and they did - but not in the way the terrorists intended. Americans united in prayer ... came to the aid of neighbors in need ... and resolved that our enemies would not have the last word. The spirit of our people is the source of America's strength. And we go forward with trust in that spirit, confidence in our purpose - and faith in a loving God who made us to be free.

Thank you, and may God bless you."

Of course the Democrats began their usual whining, making ludicrous claims that Bush just used the anniversary of 9/11 to deliver a partisan speech. I don't agree. He remembered 9/11 and reminded us what we have done about it since it happened. And laid out for us the way ahead if we are to win. He also responded to some notions from the left out there, such as:

"If we just leave (read cut and run), Osama bin Laden, al-Qaeda, and the rest of the radical Islamist terrorists will leave us alone".

"We need to redeploy (read cut and run) our troops from the quagmire that the Iraq occupation has become."

It's amazing. The democrats have done nothing but criticize Bush all along, and yet when he responds to some of their suggestions, he is "using 9/11 speech for partisan purposes.

It's amazing.

Whatcha bet, had Bush merely focused his speech on the events of 9/11 and what a tragedy it was, the Democrats would have been questioning his validity as Commander in Chief for not laying out what we have done about 9/11 and what his plan for defeating them is?

This just further gives the voters something to think about before they cast their vote for the "Party of Permanent Colic", the Democrats.

I, for one would vote the Democratic Ticket if they were to discard the liberal/leftist ideology they have embraced for most of the last century, and adopt conservatism. Then I would have an alternative to the Republican Party.
As it stand now, I will have to continue voting Republican, the less of two political evils.

Remembering 9/11

Five years ago, this nation took a sucker punch from some evil Islamo-Fascist terrorists that changed us, and the world for that matter, for good.

I’ll never forget that day. I was TDY to Hurlburt Field AFB in Florida. I was there to attend a military training class which was pretty much one of those “death by Powerpoint” classes. The classes took place in an auditorium with three large screens that the slides were projected on. After the first part of the morning session ended, I went outside to take a smoke break. When I came back in and sat down I began watching what they were showing on the middle screen. I remember seeing the first plane hit the tower and thinking to myself that this was one of those fake news things that they sometimes showed during exercises as part of the scenario. But, when the second plane hit, I knew something was horribly wrong. I think most people did. Class resumed, and in less than a minute a bunch of Colonels were receiving pages and left the class, and they didn’t come back.

Like most people, I stayed glued to the news for the days and months that followed. We weren’t prepared for that day, but we should have been had we paid attention to the mounting hatred of us by terrorists from the Middle East dating back to at least 1979, when Iranian terrorists overran our American Embassy and held those people hostage.

Apart from the obvious disgusting murder of all of those innocent people by Islamic barbarians, what stands out to this day was the way we reacted. The heroism of those policemen and firemen, and those within the towers already, who risked death to try and rescue people from those burning towers was remarkable. We will always remember them as heroes, especially those who paid the ultimate sacrifice.

For a short time there, we as Americans put aside our ideological differences and came together as one people determined to pull ourselves together and fight back.

I can remember that a drawing by some anonymous artist that depicted a fireman in the rubble of the Twin Towers, passing the American Flag off to an armed solider was circulating throughout the Internet. It conveyed a powerful message and sentiment that moved me. Of course, there was a myriad of other visual images created in response, but that one has always stuck out in my memory.

President Bush did a remarkable job of composing himself and sending a stern message out to Osama Bin Laden and the terrorists. I can remember him pledging the pursuit of justice against those murderous cowards, and I remember his additional promise to deal with any nation that harbors terrorists as being guilty of aiding and abetting them, and therefore, a target of our military.

President Bush made good on that promise. After giving the Taliban in Afghanistan ample time to hand over Osama Bin Laden the American military invaded and toppled the Taliban driving it out of power. Since that time, our great military, along with the indispensible help from our allies, have managed to either kill or capture a large number of the al Qaeda key players. Osama bin Laden has been on the run and in hiding every since 9/11. He must now cower in hiding places for the rest of his life, because he know his days are numbered.

I firmly believe that it is no accident that George W. Bush was the President during and after the 9/11 atrocity. Say what you want about his domestic policies, (many of which I don’t agree with), he definitely has been the right man for job when it comes to our War against Islamic-Fascist Terrorists. Some complain that he is a cowboy. But a cowboy is what is needed. Ronald Reagan too, was accused of approaching issues with a cowboy mentality, and thanks to him, the Cold War ended. The Soviet Union collapsed along with its threat to the free world. I firmly believe that it is because Bush uses a no nonsense cowboy approach to our enemy that they have been beaten down and largely ineffective against the U.S.

The Islamo-Fascist terrorists, apart from successes in Madrid (where they frightened the Spanish voters into electing a leftist, therefore, no threat to al Qaeda, President, Zapatero) and London, have been largely reduced to depending on sending PSYOP messages through the media in order to achieve any success.

I hope that all Americans will reflect upon 9/11 for the next few days and recapture their resolve for justice against an enemy unlike any we’ve ever encountered before. Our enemy are a pack of bloodthirsty barbarians who are nihilistic in ideology. They have admitted that they relish death. Therefore, this is an enemy you can’t negotiate with. They are hell bent on our destruction or conversion to their backwards, barbarian plans for world society. The only thing they understand is death.

I say let’s keep our resolve, throw out the ridiculous notion that we can reason with them, quit wringing our hands over what the UN, Europe, or the rest of the world think about us, and give those demon possessed savages something they can surely understand, a dirt nap for all of them. Their date with hell couldn’t come fast enough.

The Democrat Call For Censorship, Liberal Tolerance At It's Best

It looks like the Democrats have found a new angle to limit freedom of speech in this country: censorship. The liberals, with the help of the ACLU have been steady at work denying people their 1rst Amendment right to freedom of expression of religion in the public square through either their lawsuits in courts, or endorsement of those who wish to stop everything from, including the name of God in any Valedictorian speech in public schools to forcing Easter displays to be removed from work places.

Now, they want to ban ABC from airing a documentary next Monday and Tuesday night entitled, “The Path To 9/11”. You can read the whole story here. Why do they want to ban it? Because, it portrays the Democrats, and the Clinton Administration, in a bad light. They charge that there are parts of it that are untrue, and we just can’t have that!

I wonder where the Democrats got this sudden concern over the importance of the presence of truth in documentaries?

Let’s see, when a TV movie was made a couple of years ago about the late Ronald Regan, which played fast and loose with his character, not a peep could be heard from them. When ultra-liberal, Michael Moore produced his “documentary” about 9/11 and the War in Iraq, which was riddled with lies and leftist Anti-Bush propaganda, was being peddled as a factual documentary, Hillary Clinton didn’t rise to the occasion and express her disgust and proclaim that when it comes to something as important to American history as 9/11 the people needed only the truth. Nope, she was silent along with the rest of the Democrats. I haven’t heard anything from the Democrats regarding a recent movie made that includes the assassination of President Bush in it.

But, you let a movie come out that shows Clinton and the Democrats in less than a perfect light and it’s: “freedom of speech be damned, it’s time to threaten the network with consequences if it doesn’t back down from airing such a damaging film”. In other words, it’s time for some good old Soviet-styled censorship.

This is yet another example of how the liberals, who claim to have the corner of the market in tolerance, really in fact don’t. They are only tolerant of their own viewpoints. Any viewpoint counter to theirs needs to be banned, even if it is in fact, dead on. Go read Dick Morris’ take on the Democrat's charge of falsehood in the documentary in an article found here regarding how the documentary to be aired on ABC, does in fact have the Clinton Administration pegged. If any one should know it would be Dick Morris who worked with Clinton for 20 years.

Bush can be denigrated all day long in the media and in fake documentaries like Michael Moore’s and it’s a ok. But, you let some documentary portray Clinton in a bad light and the hysterics and whining from both Slick Willy and the Democrats begins.

The liberal’s war against talk radio stations who air conservative viewpoints and documentaries like “The Path To 9/11” tells you all you need to know regarding their so-called “tolerance”. The “open-minded”, “intellectual” left is anything but that. They know they can’t make it in the open market place of ideas, that is why they must stifle any other viewpoints and ensure the only media and information available to the voting public is tainted with nothing but their viewpoint.

This is yet another reason why conservatives should resist the temptation to stay at home and not vote in the upcoming elections. If we allow the liberals to regain power, they will use that power to ensure they have as much control of what the public is exposed to as they possibly can. This current display of rabid censorship on the part of the Democratic party is telling.

I for one, don’t want a Soviet style press and media that is controlled by a leftist agenda. Do you?

God Bless Our Armed Forces!!!

I received this via e-mail today from my Dad. I have no idea who wrote this but whoever the author is she/he has done an excellent job of summing up why we should support our troops and how selfish and ridiculous people who don't really are.

Subject: You need to think about this

Your alarm goes off, you hit the snooze and sleep for another 10 minutes.
He stays up for days on end.
_________________________
You take a warm shower to help you wake up.
He goes days or weeks without running water.
__________________________
You complain of a "headache", and call in sick.
He gets shot at as others are hit, and keeps moving forward.
__________________________
You put on your anti war/don't support the troops shirt, and go meet up
with your friends.
He still fights for your right to wear that shirt.
__________________________
You make sure you're cell phone is in your pocket.
He clutches the cross hanging on his chain next to his dog tags.
__________________________
You talk trash about your "buddies" that aren't with you.
He knows he may not see some of his buddies again.
__________________________
You walk down the beach, staring at all the pretty girls.
He walks the streets, searching for insurgents and terrorists.
__________________________
You complain about how hot it is.
He wears his heavy gear, not daring to take off his helmet to wipe his
brow.
__________________________
You go out to lunch, and complain because the restaurant got your order wrong.
He doesn't get to eat today.
__________________________
Your maid makes your bed and washes your clothes.
He wears the same things for weeks, but makes sure his weapons are clean.
__________________________
You go to the mall and get your hair redone.
He doesn't have time to brush his teeth today.
__________________________
You're angry because your class ran 5 minutes over.
He's told he will be held over an extra 2 months.
__________________________
You call your girlfriend and set a date for tonight.
He waits for the mail to see if there is a letter from home.
__________________________
You hug and kiss your girlfriend, like you do everyday.
He holds his letter close and smells his love's perfume.
__________________________
You roll your eyes as a baby cries.
He gets a letter with pictures of his new child, and wonders if they'll ever meet
__________________________
You criticize your government, and say that war never solves anything.
He sees the innocent tortured and killed by their own people and remembers why he is fighting.
__________________________
You hear the jokes about the war, and make fun of men like him.
He hears the gunfire, bombs and screams of the wounded.
__________________________
You see only what the media wants you to see.
He sees the broken bodies lying around him.
__________________________
You are asked to go to the store by your parents. You don't.
He does exactly what he is told.
__________________________
You stay at home and watch TV.
He takes whatever time he is given to call, write home, sleep, and eat.
__________________________
You crawl into your soft bed, with down pillows, and get comfortable.
He crawls under a tank for shade and a 5 minute nap, only to be woken by gunfire.
__________________________
You sit there and judge him, saying the world is probably a worse place because of men like him.

If only there were more men like him!
