Civil War My Eye!

In a story found here, NBC has decided to start referring to the terrorist insurgent activity in Iraq as a civil war.

Matt Lauer said on the "Today" show that "after careful consideration, NBC News has decided that a change in terminology is warranted, that the situation is Iraq with armed militarized factions fighting for their own political agendas can now be characterized as civil war."

Mr. Lauer and NBC seem to have conveniently forgot that a majority of the terrorist insurgents murdering fellow Muslims and standing in the way of the new Iraq government and nation from standing back up, after being held down under the brutal dictatorship of Sadam Hussein have poured into the country from outside her borders. They are coming in from Iran and Syria. I guess in NBC and Mr. Lauer's understanding if America was invaded by Canadian and Mexican terrorists we would be in a civil war? Yeah right. Civil wars are wars fought within a country by different factions of that country's citizens, NOT foreigners!!!

So much for the false notion of a civil war that we can just back away from without losing face.

I suspect NBC and Lauer know full well that they are being disingenuous. They are just hoping that their audience won’t know the difference. An ignorant mind is canon fodder for liberal propaganda. Which is what runs NBC in the first place.
Nice try NBC and Matt Lauer. But, if you want to sell the notion that we should withdraw from Iraq why not try reasoned arguments in place of lies.

It’s no wonder I said goodbye to main stream media news programs like NBC and went over to Fox where lies aren’t passed off as news and I get a “fair and balanced” report.
