What If Liberals Win In The Upcoming Elections?

I received an e-mail today from a friend who received an e-mail from some organization called, "The American Family Association". You guessed it. My friend sent me the e-mail that he received. Now, usually, I don't pay much attention, because, although I am conservative, I don't jump at every tidbit that I see coming from some other "conservative" source. But this one time, I noticed that the e-mail was making some good points.

So, before you decide to sit out the election because you are pissed at how much Bush and the rest of the Republican party has let us down, you might want to mentally chew on the following considerations regarding what you will have to live with under a Democrat victory:

Here is what we can expect if the liberals win:

* Amnesty for 12,000,000 illegal immigrants.

* A push to make homosexual marriage and polygamy legal in all 50 states.

* Only liberal judges will be appointed. They will create laws to implement the social agenda liberals cannot get passed through the legislative process.

* Liberals will make the killing of the unborn more difficult to stop.

* Liberals will continue to try to rid our society of Christian influence, including any reference to God in our Pledge and on our currency.

* A return to the "Fairness Doctrine" in broadcasting where opposing views must be given equal time. Every conservative talk show host will be forced to give a liberal equal time on every issue. The purpose of this rule will be to shut down conservative talk shows.

* An increase in taxes to push new social programs.

* Passing a new "hate crimes" law making it illegal to refer to homosexuality in a negative manner.

* Liberals will give terrorists from other countries who try to kill Americans the same rights American citizens enjoy under our constitution.

* We will withdraw from Iraq, sending the message to the terrorists that if they will just be patient they can win and bring their terrorist acts to the U.S.

I don't know about you, but I am definatley going to exercise my Constitutional right to vote. I love America too much to allow liberal, socialist/communist Democrats to ruin her!

I am teacher with an abiding interest in epilepsy in autism. No qualified expert: but the combination has crossed my path; and I have a current student (emerging from epilepsy, now controlled with medication)whose interests deeply concern me.
Just wondered if we could usefully share any insights. My student would seem to have had an earlier life not completely dissimilar to what you describe of Edith's. What you say about your hopes and fears for Edith, I can relate to; as also what you say about the interventions you might favour.
My email is namwob.niloc@virgin.net. My name is Colin Bowman. I live and teach in Scotland. Am married. And have two middle/late teens boys. They are dyslexic, as am I. I seem to share interests with you, tending to the philosophical. My politics would seem, on the surface, antithetical to your own.

Lefty (well, moderate lefty. Both extremes are frightening to me) here, responding to this:

I'm not so sure that Liberals would automatically allow that many illegal immigrants into this country as you mention........12 million is an enormous number.

Leaving Iraq: "not even a Liberal" would be that stupid, at least, I would hope not. If it were up to me, I would definitely NOT leave Iraq, even though I don't really agree with how the war was started. Perhaps it's an autistic thing, or just a politeness thing, not to just cut and run and leave another nation in ruins. Which is basically what war does...........in other words, I believe that we contributed to the demolished infrastructure there, so now we have to clean it up or at least help them clean it up.

The Abortion issue: I too am largely against abortion even being a moderately Liberal female....now that I have learned more about it, and I've just been baptized into the Christian faith. I'm Eastern Orthodox. But the idea of legally banning all abortion is troubling to me, because I wonder, how can you force others not to sin.........and.......there are conditions that can arise during pregnancy which pose genuine risks to the life of the mother and/or her baby. And........we'd have lots of women dying from this or that sort of infection.........because of back alley abortions. Do we want the extra expense of dealing with that? Because we can't just let people die........I don't really know God's view on that last bit........

well.......there's my bit......I responded to your comment left on my blog from october 14th.

Athena-
12 million illegals immigrants (i.e., criminal invaders) are already here. We don't have to "allow" them in.

"Leaving Iraq: "not even a Liberal" would be that stupid, at least, I would hope not."
You mean except for Murtha, Dean, Kerry, etc.???

Because we can't just let people die.

But we can let people murder the innocent? And what about partial-birth abortion? That procedure (delivering all but the child's head, puncturing it's skull and vaccuuming it's brains out so it can be delivered dead and tossed in the trash) is never necessary for the mother's health.

First off, how is it an "autistic thing"?

Second, of course we contributed to the "demolished infrastructure there". We demolished the tyrannical, murderous, oppressive, infrastructure of Sadaam Hussien and his Baathist Party government in Iraq. So, of course, it is in our best interest to ensure that the previously oppressed Iraqi people that are now free are able to start anew with a rebuilt country.

Your point is?

You'll have to help me out here a bit. What is the URL for your blog? I don't recall ever visiting a blog by someone who goes by the name Athena Ivan. Furthermore, clicking on the hyperlink attached to your name here in the comments section only leads to a profile with no blog or website referenced. So I am at a loss as to who you are and what I might have posted comments wise on your blog.

Athena,

You said,

"I've just been baptized into the Christian faith. I'm Eastern Orthodox. But the idea of legally banning all abortion is troubling to me, because I wonder, how can you force others not to sin..."

So then, are you an enabler for Satan and his wish for humanity? Do you have an inate need for sin around you?

Please, cut the rest of us some slack!

Welcome to Christianity!

You have chosen the Eastern Orthodox flavor. I considered that flavor of Christianity, but settled on the Episcopal Church in the end.

My wife is a Spaniard, and so, was raised Catholic. But, our family has decided on the Episcopal Church as our Church of choice although it has been years since we have been able to attend. Our youngest daughter is not only epileptic, but autistic as well.

In the end, it doesn't really matter what Christian chuch we attend. What matters is how we respond to God's gift of Jesus for all of us.
