Shamrock? Day?

There is apparently a new politically correct movment in this "mealy mouthed" country to abolish St. Patrick's Day and rename it to the more, less "offensive",
"Shamrock Day".

This is ridiculous! I get the fact that some atheists are offended by the use of the phrase "St. Patrick" as, he is a Christian Saint. But, I don't support in any way their "offense".

First off, if they were secure in their atheism, this wouldn't be a problem. Secondly, who are they to lecture Irish-Americans on what they can and can't celebrate?!

Where does it end?

This politically correct speech has got to end. And now!

Where is it stated in the Constitution of our government that you have the right to "not be offended"? For crying out loud!

The whole purpose of the 1rst Ammendment is to first, secure our right to freedom of speech, and secondly, to ensure that we are all free to pursue the religion we prefer and for the government to not interfere in our religious choices. There is no provision in our Constitution for "freedom from religion", just "freedom of religion".

Apparently, Disney, that once bastion of kid safe movies, has decided that it is important to change "St. Patrick's Day" to "Shamrock Day", as if we were all pagans and were worshiping a green flower. Nice, but, totally stupid.

The whole meaning behind "St. Patrick's Day" is centered around the belief that St. Patrick, an English priest, converted Ireland to Christianity. The shamrock part of the story has to do with his clever use of this plant as a way to demonstrate the meaning behind "The Trinity".

Of course, the truth of the matter is that there were already existing in Ireland, "Celtic Christians". So, in reality what St. Patrick's real influence was in converting Ireland to Catholicism.

Be that as it may, it makes no sense whatsoever to take a holiday for Ireland Catholics and try and turn it into some sort of quasi secular/pagan holiday. That is just insulting.

So much for the "tolerant" left and their nonsensical "politically correct" ideas.

I for one, reject this idiosy. And so, for me, it will always be "St. Patrick's Day". And I am NOT even a Catholic!

I am an Episcopalian, a member of the Anglican Church.

More Hypocrisy From The "Compassionate" Left

I was watching the "O'Reilly Factor" tonight and came across a case where commenters on the MSNBC program's internet site were lamblasting the daughter of Sarah Palin. Apparently, she and her boyfriend have broken off their engagement and so, now, she will be left to care for their illegitimate offspring by herself. Of course, she probably won't be left alone in this, as her parents will more than likely provide assistance.

A sampling of the comments left on MSNBC's site regarding this situation from liberal posters was presented on Bill O'Reilly's show. They were all disgusting.
One of the comments was trying to link the consequences of this, highly private and personal decision, to the "GOP's Cathedral Of Morals".

Since when do liberals care about morals?

This is, after all, the group of "enlightned intellectuals" who embrace sexual freedom, homo-sexual validity and any number of immoral lifestyles as a sacred right of all Americans' "pusuit of happiness". Yet, here they are pontificating on the moral ramifications of one of Sarah Palin's daughters predicament.

Liberals can't have it both ways. Either a women's body is her own, or it is a moral matter in the public eye.

If it had been Bill and Hillary Clinton's daughter, Chelsea, in this predicament - not a word would have been spoken about it. Or, if anything was said, it would have been posts full of praises for Chelsea's ability to carry on without the biological father's cooperation.

But, let it be a daughter of a conservative, and it's all about the need for the "scarlet letter, A" being applied.

This is blatant hypocrisy on the part of some of the left.

That's right, I said "some" of the left. I don't really believe that all who subscribe to the liberal idealogy are as unhinged as the rest of the majority of their kind.

My take on this is this: All of this is really none of our business. While, due to my Christian beliefs, I do have to say that what Sarah Palin's daughter did with her boyfriend to result in pregancy is immoral, there are some silver linings in that cloud.

First off, they didn't rush to the liberal solution of murder of the child via abortion. So, the conservative values in that family are obviously, real and valid.
Second, the break off of the engagement may not be a bad thing in the long run. What good is it for them to marry as a result of a pregnancy if they really don't belong together in marriage? What kind of a life would the child have in a forced marriage of two people who really don't want to be together in the first place?

I am so sick and tired of liberal hypocrites opining on topics where they should be silent. What kind of a person rejoices in the misfortunes of another person who they don't even know in the first place? So much for being the ideology of "compassion" and "tolerance".

Chelsea Clinton serves as a good hypothetical proof as to how morally and truthfully bankrupt the liberal positon really is.

Who would want to identify with people of this ilk?

Not me.

I am confidently content with being a conservative. The unhinged left offers me nothing to admire. I think that I will stay on the conservative right. At least, we don't pull for the murder of "accidents" resulting from our sexual trysts, and accuse others single moms who don't choose murder of their children with immoral behavior for not marrying the biological father.

Rush Limbaugh & The Hypocrisy Of The Left

Conservative spokeman, Rush Limbaugh gave an hour and a half speech at the CPAC Convention. In his speech, the leftist media focused on his statement that he hoped that the President, Barack Obama's socialist vision for America would fail. Needless to say that they were shocked and appalled. So appalled that we have all had to listen to their disgust every day since then from the media.

Why is this such a big deal? Of course a conservative like Rush would oppose any leftist, socialist agenda for our country. If Rush didn't oppose the leftists' vision for America then, he would be a "fake conservative". It goes without saying that, of course conservatives oppose liberal goals for our country.

I submit to all that read this blog that the real hypocrites are on the left. Throughout George W. Bush's term as president the message from the left was all about him failing. Whether it be in Iraq, the economy etc. Bush was "Hitler", he was a "Nazi" his administration was constantly characterized as a "Regime".

So, from the left's perspctive, it was ok during Bush's term as President to wish him failure but somehow now, it is wrong?

The hypocritcal left wants us now to believe that their leftist candidate, Barack Obama is suppose to be "hands off". What a joke!

As much as the left would like for us to "ignore the man behind the curtain" they are actually, now in the ackward position of being, "The Grand Hypocrites Of Oz".

The ball has now been sucessfully placed in their court.

Hopefully the apathetic, no voting block of this country have been paying attention.

It is way past the time to send the Democrats packing.
